Last year it seemed that The Undertaker’s ring race could have come to an end, as he suffered his second loss at WrestleMania against “The Big Dog” Roman Reigns in the main event of WrestleMania 33.
After the match, Taker took off his tunic, hat and gloves before ceremoniously leaving them in the center of the ring. Many fans believed that this was Taker’s way of saying goodbye to the WWE Universe and subtly announcing his retirement from professional wrestling.
As the months continued, however, speculation began to emerge about whether Taker really made himself inside the ring. Taker was behind the scenes in last Tuesday’s episode of SmackDown Live, and while it was not confirmed why he was there, it is speculated that it was to review the plans for his return to WWE TV.
Taker is scheduled to appear on Monday Night RAW’s 25th Anniversary Show on January 22. Speculation soared over a potential return of Undertaker at WrestleMania 34 when a report was released suggesting that WWE’s plans for John Cena will be larger than any of the title matches on the card.
This led the fans to believe that John Cena vs. The Undertaker could be WWE’s plans for the upcoming WrestleMania event in New Orleans. Now, a report from the Wrestling Observer Bulletin has confirmed those plans.
Both John Cena and The Undertaker will be in New York for the 25th Anniversary show of RAW, where they will shoot their big angle to begin their construction of WrestleMania 34.
No doubt there will be a mixed reaction from the fans about this.
While a meeting between John Cena and Undertaker at WrestleMania has been sought for a long time, many believe that it is already too late since Taker has already passed his best and the match will not be as good as it could have been five or ten years ago. . .
