ORLANDO – The undiscussable ERA has been more naughty than pleasant since it came to NXT, but that did not stop the wishes of Kyle O’Reilly and Bobby Fish from coming true this holiday season. With the help of his undisputed colleague ERA, Adam Cole, O’Reilly & Fish delivered a devastating blow to his archrival SAnitY, defeating Eric Young and Killian Dain in a wild title match to claim the NXT Tag Team Championship.
While O’Reilly & Fish’s expert submission and hitting skills allowed them to isolate Young for much of the game, SAnitY came around the corner once the giant Killian Dain received the label. However, as shocking as The Beast of Belfast, the intrusion of Cole ringside turned out to be the real game change. The Playboy of Panama City helped O’Reilly & Fish sneak up on several points in the fight, including running Dain with his shoulders toward the entrance of the steel ring at a critical moment.
Young tried to neutralize Cole by hitting him with a suicidal dive, but the veteran’s decision to take the eye off his opponents gave O’Reilly & Fish the opportunity they needed. Upon returning to the ring, Young received a devastating combination of high and low from O’Reilly & Fish, which sealed the victory, kicking off the first reign of the undisputed ERA on NXT.
